(Icky) Before and (Better) After

It's time to show my before and after pictures. Are you ready?????????
If you'd like to know how we came to live here, you can read about it HERE
Alright time to start. I'll start in the kitchen.
Before :(
(As in when we bought. BEFORE we moved in. I have no desire to take credit for any of the before's.)
Ok, THIS IS THE AFTER. I wouldn't want to scare you away. ;)

During and before.

Dining room before. Not sure what she was going for.??
the old west??

                                                         And After.

I painted all of the wood floors with a Valspar  Porch and Floor paint from Lowe's. Because they weren't consistant, not in perfect condition, and I had already almost single handedly done all of the reno inside it was just easier to do it this way and worry about it later. We are now mulling over/researching whether we want to redo with wood or laminate. (Our son did help with some carpentry work inside and I am soooo grateful for his help!. And advice when he wasn't able to come. I also want to thank GOOGLE. I owe them. haha If what needed done wasn't in my experience already, I would google and find out how to get it done. It never failed me. ;) To see how I did my hutch look HERE.

Something Old Something New

I found this on ebay. Not quite the condition it was sold as. Anyway it has (man, wife, children) names and dates in it and I found the original owner on Ancestry.com so I left a note and hope to reunite this family Bible with their family who I hope would love to have it as much as I would love to have one of mine.
Paisley. Paisley's my favorite. :D

I accidently destroyed my cushion cover in the washer but was able to  find a shower curtain to make a new one. And I even had enough left for (cafĂ©) curtains. Just in case someone tries to look in the loo. You're welcome Penny. ;p

Winter Wheat Love

I love that our farming neighbor chooses to plant winter wheat. Just when we can't seem to take any more brown, cloudy days the fields start showing their green. If the rains come, even just a few, they will have a nice field to harvest. Usually starting around May down in Texas and moving up this way come June.
Normally I am not a fan of wind but when it gently moves across the tops of the fields it's mesmerizing. I could watch it for hours. Like an invisible dancer across the top of each blade.
This year it seems even more beautiful. Maybe it's because, even though we are still in drought conditions, it's not as bad as the last couple of years. When the farmers made more from insurance on damaged crops (wheat and cotton) than they could make selling. What a shame, I say.

God is good. Always. And today I will be thankful we are surrounded by these beautiful fields of green.

The Gift

So grandson # 3 gave to Papa. Jesus.
And Papa said "Let there be clothes".

So Oma madeth a robe for Jesus.
Our little sweethearts are so generous and sweet. We thank God for them every day!!!
I've started a gift jar for all the little goodies they give me. (and there are definitely some rocks in there) I'd be on my umpteenth jar if I had started when they first started. ;)
Don't worry though Jesus isn't going in. He's sitting upstairs in Papa's man room.
